Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Spring Cleanup!
On the lovely morning of April 29, several Emerson Heights residents gathered together to beautify our neighborhood. With the support of a grant from the Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center, each of the 30 participants received a 5-gallon bucket and a trash grabber. Thanks to Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, we had a convenient dumpster and all the necessary supplies at hand, which we filled to the brim.
Following the cleanup, we celebrated with a delightful picnic at the Living Faith Community Park. Arts with a Purpose entertained us with engaging children’s activities and music, while EHCO generously provided a delicious spread of food and drinks. It was heartwarming to witness numerous families come together and revel in this wonderful community event.
Final votes for the art contest were taken at the Community Picnic. Heather Keeney, a resident on Bancroft, was the winner of the Signal Box Design Competition and received the $200 award. She will work with renowned muralist and former Emerson Heights resident, Carl Leck. Carl will then replicate her design on the box. The painting is expected to be done this summer, so keep an eye out!
